Project Overview
The project supported 50 children by providing essential school materials, uniforms, and textbooks. The aim was to ensure that beneficiaries began the school year equipped and confident. Distribution took place at the NGO premises on 5 January 2026.
Background of NPO
Bonheur Associé Aux Enfants is based in Village Beau Vallon in the southeast of Mauritius. They support 65 children from 38 vulnerable families in severe financial difficulty and circumstance. Over and above other activities, the preparation and distribution of lunch packs every school day for each of the children, is one of the NGO’s main activities. This activity is carried out throughout each school term. There has been a marked change in the children as they are now more eager to go to school and less absentees; and the parents feel much relief as this activity reduces their financial burden.
Description of Project
The initiative included the purchase and distribution of school supplies such as books, copybooks, pencils, erasers, rulers, pencil cases, and art materials. Older children who required specific textbooks received additional support. Families facing severe hardship benefited from material relief as school-related expenses were fully covered.

- Absenteeism was reduced at the start of the school year
