To ensure the financial sustainability of I61 Foundation, and to maintain our high standard of vetting, project monitoring and evaluation, as well as funder reporting, an additional 10% of the project value has been included in the overall project cost.

Project Overview
Future Hope provides a breakfast and lunch to all the students and a snack to those attending the ‘Soutien Scolaire’. The present project is an appeal to funders to help Future Hope continue its mission of offering a breakfast/meal/snack prepared in a kitchen that responds to the norms of the Ministry of Health.
Background of NGO
Future Hope is dedicated to supporting children who are unable to follow the standard school curriculum and are at risk of becoming “street children.” The organization provides a safe environment where these children receive daily breakfast and lunch during the day school, which operates from 09:00 to 14:00. Almost all of the children come from underprivileged backgrounds.
In addition to the main day school, Future Hope runs four other learning centres located in Sainte Croix, Roche Bois, Cite La Cure, and Petite Riviere. These centres operate after school hours, from 15:30 to 17:00, and are staffed by volunteers who generously donate their time to assist the children.
Description of Project
This kitchen renovation project will create a practical, hygienic, and durable cooking space while making the best use of the available area.
The scope of work included the installation of two custom-built cabinets. The first cabinet supports the sink and cooking stove and is finished with a durable granite countertop and a stainless-steel splashback for easy cleaning and long-term protection. The second cabinet provides dedicated storage for groceries, helping to keep food items organised, clean, and safely stored.
To improve ventilation and comfort while cooking, an extractor fan will be installed above the stove, helping to remove heat, smoke, and cooking odours from the kitchen.
Objectives of the Project
- Improve kitchen functionality by providing dedicated areas for cooking, washing, and food storage.
- Increase storage capacity through the installation of custom-built cabinets for groceries.
- Enhance hygiene and cleanliness with a granite countertop and stainless-steel splashback that are easy to clean and maintain.
- Create a safer cooking environment by installing an extractor fan to remove smoke, heat, and cooking odours.
- Improve durability and longevity through the use of high-quality, hard-wearing materials suitable for daily use.
- Provide a well-organised and comfortable kitchen space that better meets the household’s everyday cooking and storage needs.
