Project Overview

Bonheur Associé aux Enfants (BAE) acquired property adjacent to their current premises in December 2024. This new property will allow BAE to expand their office, offer three classrooms, a computer room and library. These premises will also help the caterers and other volunteers in their tasks, offering the three teachers a classroom each which will improve learning systems, provide a better and more comfortable space to beneficiaries, staff, members, and visitors. Funds are needed for:

Floor tiles
A gas stove and a gas cylinder
One air conditioner
Seven ceiling fans
One refrigerator
Transport for waste.

Description of Project

This project is to renovate the new building that will become the BAE premises in Beau-Vallon, Mahebourg. This renovation includes:

pulling down the front concrete wall – to create parking space for the NGO.
renovating three rooms to create three classrooms – allowing each of the three after school teachers to have their own class, which will enhance the After School experience.
renovating the new kitchen – to align with the Ministry of Health standards’. This allows food to be prepared and distributed more efficiently.
creating a computer and library room where the children can do research more comfortably.
making the office more accessible on the ground floor level for partners, funders and other visitors.
storing food on the ground level – to facilitate loading, unloading, and distribution of items and donations.

Objectives of the Project

To facilitate the effectiveness of the after school classes for 45 children. To date, different levels of classes are held at the same time, causing issues as the children have different grades and difficulties. By creating three additional classrooms at the new premises, each teacher will have their own classroom and the children will be divided into three different levels according to their grades, for example: Grade 0 to 3, 4 to 5, and 6 and above. This will allow the children to focus more.
To create more space to prepare and distribute packed lunches in the morning. As well as for snacks and juice in the afternoons. Being on the ground floor will facilitate these activities.
To create the office on the ground level with parking facilities in front of the building which will allow for ease of visits and receiving deliveries.
To create a computer and library room where the children will be able to research more. comfortably.
