Project Summary

The Association Amour et Espoir, in Coteau Raffin, ensures 130 children in this vulnerable community receive a safe place to have a meal before and after school as well as a snack later. For some children, this is the only food they receive throughout the day. They are in need of funds to ensure this happens.

Project Overview

Coteau Raffin, is one of the three poorest regions in Mauritius. During this economic downturn the conditions are even more devastating, if that’s possible. Many of the parents are unemployed, living in awful conditions and not able to provide their children with adequate nutrition. The Association Amour et Espoir ensures each child receives a safe place to have a meal before school as well as a snack later. For some children, this is the only food they receive throughout the day. The I61 Foundation ensures that, through the generosity of one of our funders, fresh fruit is delivered to the Association every week for these children.
