Project Overview

Future Hope runs four centres under the activity “Accompagnement Scolaire”, as well as a day-school, “Ecole du Jour” for children from vulnerable backgrounds and who, due to their low academic level, are unable to follow the mainstream school programme. This project is an appeal to funders to help Future Hope replace items that have been damaged over the years through wear and tear, as well as new equipment such as electronics, too costly for their budget. These items will support and strengthen their activities with the children.

Description of Project

Future Hope needs to update existing equipment as well as purchase new appliances, and consumables for their classes. These items are required to run activities at their various sites and to effectively run the school, “Ecole du Jour”, or assist those attending “Accompagnement Scolaire”. All the children are from the most vulnerable families – some live with grandparents or single mothers, most have difficulty sourcing school materials, books and other items such as uniforms and school bags.

The social workers from all four centres know the background and the conditions of each family Future Hope works with very well. These are the criteria to be met for children to be enrolled at Future Hope’s “Ecole du Jour”:

The child comes from a family with social issues;
The child is unable to follow the mainstream programme;
The child is less than 18 years old;
The parent or guardian is fully committed to the child’s education.

Objectives of Project

To provide an environment that is conducive to studying.
2. To equip the school with the necessary technology to support modern learning.
To ease the work of volunteers by giving them the right equipment to perform their tasks.
