Project Overview
The beneficiaries of Bonheur Associé aux Enfants (BAE) are from low-income families – some from families with drug and alcohol addiction issues, others with extended family issues led by a single mother or grandparent. Finding funds to purchase the basic school material requirements for their children is a great burden at the beginning of the year. This is why BAE feels it is critical to support these families. This project involved preparation and distribution of the basic school requirements and materials to allow the children to commence the 2025 school year with dignity and confidence.
Description of Project
Thanks to our generous funders BAE was able to provide its beneficiaries with essential school materials, including stationary. Certain items, such as books, shoes, and private tuition, were offered under exceptional conditions following a needs assessment conducted by the NGO. Additionally, BAE supports these children through an after-school program held on their premises every afternoon. With a deep understanding of the community’s social landscape, BAE was well-equipped to identify and assist those in genuine need.
The objectives of the project were as follows:
- To allow the children to start school with dignity and confidence and without the fear of missing any learning material.
- To reduce the burden on the parents who would need to seek finance to send their children to school.
- To allow vulnerable families to upgrade their standard of living as the family burden was reduced by providing these materials to their children. Finance can be redirected to other family priorities.
