Project Overview

For years, Etoile d’Esperance had dreamt of having a second house for the re-integration of rehabilitated beneficiaries into society.  The facility is for those women who have been released from the rehabilitation programme but either not welcomed back by their family or not financially stable enough to stand on their own feet.  Historically, the center had no other choice but to plead with direct or indirect relatives for lodging; and the worst case scenario was relapse, with the women returning to the streets.

The existing facility now has a Halfway House on the same property as the main house. Two containers have been purchased and modified to make them habitable and functionable.  The women now have a space to recuperate a little longer and make the necessary arrangements to begin their lives anew.
