Project Overview

The Sun Kids Education programme supports over 100 children between the ages of 4 and 13 years of age from vulnerable families, in two centers, Vacoas and Riviere Noire. They have learning difficulties, are school dropouts, slow learners or simply vulnerable children.

Three times a week the children of Village Les Saline in Rivière Noire receive after school support by bridging the education gap, and are also given a meal.

The flooring of two of the containers of the Sun Kids Education Project was badly damaged in the February 2023 floods. The water damage prevented the children from using the classrooms and one of the classrooms is used for counseling which is critical for the care of these children.

Funds were received for all the materials as well as other items to improve the school. To reduce costs, school staff made the repairs themselves.
