Project Summary

Les Boulbouls Project consists of a playcentre for 2-year-olds from vulnerable families located in Mahebourg. These children are from precarious situations who have certain developmental delays, delays in speech acquisition, difficulties in adapting to the classroom, inappropriate behaviour on the part of certain children, and socialisation difficulties.
They have little or no socialisation prior to their entry to pre-primary school, as well as children with delayed motor, intellectual and sensory development. The aim of this project is to socialise the children around playtime and through many games, before they enter pre-primary school, and to introduce them to a routine so that their adaptation to pre-primary school goes more smoothly.
Funding was provided to purchase tables, chairs, stationery and a slow cooker, as well as a swingset.

Outcomes:

The chairs and tables for 2 year old children are adapted to their size and age and are useful for their everyday work plan and for lunches.
The Stationery will be used for their educational activities and to learn colours and shape. Critical for quality education
The Pressure cooker is useful to achieve SDG 2: Zero Hunger, and support access to a balanced meal.
The swing/slide has been an immediate success because adapted to the kids’ size and mobility.
